Please Note:
• Summer hours start Tuesday, June 20th and end on Thursday, August 31st. (Tuesdays to Saturdays 10 AM - 5 PM)
• The library will be CLOSED Saturday, July 1st for Canada Day.
• We do not charge for our library memberships and are happy to sign you up with proof of identification.

The theme this year for our TD Summer Reading Club for children is “Check This Out”.

Employment Opportunity:
Library Summer Program Coordinator
The Seba Beach Public Library is accepting applications for an enthusiastic, creative, energetic, and reliable person to facilitate the Library Summer Program for children. We are looking for someone that can help facilitate learning activities, Story Walks, read stories, play games, and make crafts with kids. If you are 16 years of age or older and appreciate libraries and learning, please consider applying!
Responsibilities:
Planning, promoting, and delivering the Library's Summer Reading Program Coordinating the organization and delivery of regular programs and special events Preparing summer reading program themes and displays.
Assisting with library circulation, shelving, and readers' services.
Qualifications:
16 years or older
Experience working with children.
Competent computer skills and comfortable with Microsoft Office
Valid social insurance number
Canadian citizen or permanent resident and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Satisfactory background screening including a Criminal Record Check
Valid Alberta driver's license, with access to a vehicle an asset.
Current First Aid Certificate an asset.
Characteristics and Skills:
Has experience working with children.
Passionate about literacy and learning
Ability to work independently and take initiative: organized and detail-oriented.
Friendly and positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements:
Lifting and moving library materials that may weigh up to 20 pounds.
Ability to work with crafting materials.
Schedule: Part-time, starting Saturday, June 24th and working until August 26 (9 weeks), Tuesdays to Saturdays, averaging 15-20 hours per week, with more hours as needed for special events (I.e., Regatta)
Compensation: $16.00 per hour.
